Our physician, Dr. Edward Shen, is Harvard educated, fellowship-trained and double board-certified in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology. He utilizes the most advanced minimally invasive techniques to treat all types of pain conditions.

The greatest testament to Dr. Shen’s skills is that he is consistently recommended by friends, family, and physicians to treat their painful conditions. He is the doctor who is recommended by physicians to treat their own family members. Patients have even flown from other countries to be treated by Dr. Shen.

Dr.  Edward Shen utilizes cutting-edge technologies including fluoroscopy and ultrasound to precisely diagnose and treat specific pain generators. Each painful condition is expertly evaluated. Often times patients can be provided treatment the same day to help reduce the painful condition. 

Dr. Shen graduated with honors from Harvard University with a degree in Biochemical Sciences. He attended medical school at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He completed both his anesthesiology residency and pain management fellowship at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Prior to medical school, he has also worked in the genomics industry developing software to mine the human genome.

Dr. Shen keeps up to date by traveling to national conferences. He has written publications and presented at national pain conferences. He is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and Spine Intervention Society as well as a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology with subspecialty certification in Pain Management. Dr. Shen currently serves as Pain Management Division Chief at Trinitas Regional Medical Center.
